Emma provides evidence-based psychotherapy in Melbourne, Australia. Her approach supports clients in distress with compassion, transforming their lives through shifting core emotional wounds of loneliness, shame, and fear.

She works predominantly with clients who overthink and intellectualise their emotions, avoid feeling and processing their emotions, experience relational attachment distress, and clients who have been made to feel rejected and unloved.

Emma does not diagnose pathological conditions.

Our Services

  • Individual Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is a journey that will leave clients feeling like they understand and accept themselves at a much greater level.

The approach and experience will always be tailored. However, clients can expect to go beyond talking, and start to explore their deeper beliefs and emotions through a mixture of interactive activities and creative approaches.

Psychotherapy gets clients out of their heads and into the present.

  • Couples Therapy

Emotion-Focused Couples Therapy (EFT-C) is one of the leading therapeutic approaches to relationship counselling, backed up by decades of research. This is the main approach Emma Vasey is trained in.

EFT-C is a non-blaming approach based in attachment theory. Patterns of relating between the couple are understood to invite newfound empathy, and new ways of responding to each others needs and emotional cues, resulting in greatly diminished distress.

    Couples therapy reunites.

Psychotherapy supports a process of change. […] A person can develop a greater capacity to be in charge of their life, empowered and self-directing, and experience increasing joy, meaning, peace of mind and heart, purposefulness, insight and self-knowledge."
